Fergus has a spinning flywheel and moving piston. He is
painted blue-purple with red wheels, and although he
vaguely resembles Trevor the Traction Engine, Fergus
runs on rails, unlike Trevor.
Fergus shunts trucks at the Cement Works. He is
reliable and down-to-earth, and knows the Rule Book by
heart! Unsurprisingly, he's resistant to change and can
be irritated when other engines "muck about". However,
he is a decent engine at heart and will not hesitate to
help other engines who are in trouble.
